Flag Football League starts Thursday January 8, 2009 (with league games to run Thursday nights from 5-8 PM)
Team Sign-up Deadline: Monday January 5th @ 12 Noon
Bond: $50 per team; fully refunded at the end of the season so long as there are no forfeits/defaults or conduct issues

There is room for a maximum of seven (7) teams in this league; the first seven teams to have their team bond paid and cashier-stamped team sheet submitted to the Campus Rec Office will be admitted to the league.

Last climb of the Fall '08 semester

Our last indoor climb for the 2008 calendar year is taking place on Friday November 28th. As always, the cost is $10 per person which covers transportation to and from the climbing gym, your equipments rental (shoes & harness) and a lesson/refresher on safe belaying.

Pick-Up Basketball, Badminton, & Volleyball

Starting today, Monday November 3rd, Campus Rec will have various pick-up sports running from 9:00 - 11:00 PM in the Gym.

Monday Nite Basketball
Tuesday Nite Badminton
Wednesday Nite Volleyball

Each night is free, drop-in, and open to any and all Loyalist College students.

Late-Nite Badminton

When: Tuesdays, from 9-11 PM, starting October 28th

Who: any full-time Loyalist College student or staff member

What: drop-in recreational play; if there's enough interest, we can always start up a slightly more competitive ladder on the side.

Cost: nothing. We have rackets and birdies if you don't have your own, you just need to bring gym clothes, sneakers, a fun attitude and maybe a friend or two.

Climb #3

Our third climb is happening on Friday November 7th; as always, we'll be leaving the campus at 5:00 PM and the cost per person is $10 (which covers just about everything: transportation, shoe & harness rental, gym pass, and lesson/refresher). Open to all climbers, beginner and expert alike!

Ultimate!

Thursday evenings, from 5:00 to whenever, come on out to the front field (the nice, big patch of green between Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd and the first student parking lot along the south edge of the main entrance) for a great time playing Ultimate Frisbee! We'll be doing this until it gets too cold to continue (at which time we'll hopefully be able to move it indoors...)

Softball League starts today!

The schedule has been posted, first game is at 5:00 PM today, and team captains can pick up their rule package from the Fitness Centre Front Desk. Hopefully the weather will clear up...

New Dates for Climb #2 & the White-Water Canoe Trip

Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, the dates for the next indoor climb and the white-water canoe trip have changed. Essentially, they've just been swapped:

Indoor Climb #2 is now on Friday October 3rd

White-Water Canoe Trip is now taking place Friday October 17th - Sunday October 19th

Gymnastics postponed

Not cancelled (hopefully), just postponed for now. The Bay of Quinte Gymnastics Club -- the location we're planning to use for our own club -- is having a difficult time finding coaches/instructors to take on the various recreational groups and without one of those we can't use their facility. Stay tuned; their Club Director is hopeful that in a few weeks they'll be sorted out and we'll be good to go.
