Mt. Marcy, Phelps, Algonquin, Wright Peak, and Haystack are just some of the 46 "High Peaks" in ADK Park, New York, and each year an adventurous group of Loyalist College students and staff make their way there to tackle one or two of them.
Winter is a beautiful and rewarding time to be outdoors, but its challenging conditions require taking special care. Hiking and backpacking in the winter is a strenuous activity and when coupled with mountain weather conditions which can change unexpectedly and rapidly, it's important to prepare properly.
On our return trip, we will be stopping for a visit at The Wild Center, the natural history museum of the Adirondacks, located in Tupper Lake, New York.
If you are thinking of taking part in this activity but would like more information on what to expect and what to do to prep yourself for it, please contact Cory Mestre at 613.969.1913 x.2606
